The Salvation Army

I’m a complete idiot.

Yes, I knew that William Booth founded the Salvation Army upon the tenets and principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but I had ignorantly assumed (a prominent attitude in the States, I’m afraid) that it had been neutered of much of its evangelistic and Christian base.

I hope more folks discover the genuine ministry that goes on through the Army, apart from bell-ringing.

Thanks for this… Sometimes I believe the Army has become the Methodist church that the Army came out of… People are obsessed with activity and busy-ness because they equate it with holiness…like the church at Ephesus in Revelation 2 – they have lost their sight of their first love… But other times I am amazed at the simple love of people living out Booth’s motto :: “Heart to God, Hand to Man” When you hear stories like my mate Charlie from Greenock who lost everyone he loved due to alcohol and how his life has been transformed by the Jesus… Read more »

there ain’t nuthin’ wrong with them thar bell ringers!! and now that you’re on board with them i expect some support come christmas when i make another plea for fellow bell ringing volunteers! i’m signin’ you, your four, and many more to join my fam in the fun of serving at walmart! gooo salvation army!
