As I mentioned in Part 1, there was so much to catch up on that I split this post into two sections. If you haven’t read Part 1, you can here.

In this Roundup, Part 2:

  • Pride Month pushback, including boycotts of Bud Light and Target
  • Southern Baptists kick out Rick Warren/Saddleback Valley Community Church
  • One year since Roe v Wade was toppled
  • Canadian wildfires creating hellscapes and hazy days
  • Tucker Carlson’s departure from Fox

Pride Month pushback

It began three months ago with Annheuser-Busch’s label Bud Light producing a special can commemorating Dylan Mulvaney, [1]Latest Update On The Bud Light Boycott: It’s A Bloodbath, by Sarah Weaver (Daily Caller: May 24, 2023) a man claiming to be a woman. In what will become a historical moment for companies everywhere of not knowing their audience, a boycott began.

When news surfaced of Target’s special Pride section being front and center in their stores, complete with “tuck” bathing suits and clothing marketed to children (and let’s not forget “cutesy” paraphernalia created by a Satanist), [2]Target Partners with Satanist Designer Abprallen for Gay Pride Collection, by Thomas Williams (Breitbart News: May 22, 2023) it was ceased being Pride Month and transitioned to folly month.

Between the two companies, billions of dollars in market value evaporated as the month-long boycotts began. [3]Target stock downgraded as Pride merch backlash pushes losses near $14 billion, by Victor Morton (Washington Times: June 5, 2023) The LA Dodgers hosted a blasphemous group to recognize Pride Month as well. In the meantime, other companies, shocked by the widespread pushback across partisan lines, quietly withdrew or canceled their own Pride efforts in an attempt to fly under the radar of the ire of sane citizens who were irate over the perverted attempts to proselytize the young.

When rappers make a song called “Boycott Target” and it reaches #1 on Apple Music, you know boycotts work.

Southern Baptists kick out Rick Warren/Saddleback Valley Community Church

I have no idea what he was thinking, but Rick Warren’s Unimaginable Ego was on full display as Southern Baptists headed to their annual convention. In spite of the fact that their doctrinal statement The Baptist Faith & Messageclearly stated that pastors are to menfolk, [4]“While both men and women are gifted for service in the church, the office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture.” ~ Baptist Faith & Message 2000 For a helpful article to … Continue reading Warren and his church had ordained women pastors.

He then began to whip up his considerable following (by his own estimation) to dissuade, persuade and perhaps even intimidate Southern Baptists into changing their position of the ordination of women as pastors.

He posted this earlier this year in the lead up to the convention and since deleted it:

What ensued at their convention was the messengers from thousands of SBC churches voting overwhelmingly to disfellowship Saddleback Valley Community Church (88%) and also passing an amendment to their constitution to further clarify where the denomination stands on the issue. It too passed. (It must be affirmed in two consecutive conventions, so it will be voted on again next year.)

One year ago Roe v Wade was toppled

Celebrate life.

It has been one year since the Supreme Court overruled Roe v. Wade, holding that the Constitution does not contain a right to abortion. We should see that decision as nothing short of miraculous, and it was the result of decades of prayer and perseverance. One year later, thousands upon thousands of lives have been saved, and yet the work of creating a culture of life is just beginning. [5]The promise of Dobbs, by Erin Hawley (World Magazine: June 29, 2023)

This World Radio podcast examines what the Dobbs decision means one year later:

Canadian wildfires

When I look out my back door, I see haze on the mountains here in Blacksburg, Virginia. Incredible wildfires in Canada [6]Canada Fires Have Burned a South Carolina-Sized Area of Forest, by Brian Sullivan (Bloomberg: June 29, 2023) have created hellscape scenes in New York City and hazy days across the country.

Tucker Carlson’s departure from Fox

The news came as a shock to many. Fox’s #1 personality was suddenly no longer on Fox. “According to press sources, Fox took him off the air as part of its nearly $800 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems.” [7]The Tucker Coup, by Lee Smith (May 1, 2023)

It was a monumental move. Carlson had waged war on a nightly basis against the “powers that be” – no matter who was in power. Abruptly, he was silenced. Or so it seemed. Now, he has been broadcasting on Twitter, and rumors are that he’s raising financing for his own media company.

“Carlson’s 10-minute long “Tucker on Twitter” videos that debuted in early June have been racking up huge numbers of views — Thursday’s entry logged 12.5 million in its first 12 hours online, well over his average 3 million viewers on Fox. [8]Tucker Carlson Is Raising Money to Start a New Media Company, by Eileen AJ Connelly (Yahoo News: June 29, 2023)

Profoundly, at an address to the conservative Heritage Foundation just three days before his departure, he spoke about the “herd mentality” so prevalent in DC and the MSM. [9]Watch his address here.
