Paul and Timothy
In Philippians 2:19-24, it appears that the apostle Paul has nothing to teach us. It's just commentary about sending Timothy to the church at Philippi. But there's so much here to encourage us!
I rarely post sermons that I have preached at Northstar, but after studying and preaching through Philippians 2:19-24 this past Sunday night, I wanted to share it with you.
There’s an amazing relationship between Paul and Timothy in the New Testament. Timothy is one of the most well-known unknowns in the first century church. Wherever Paul was, you could be assured that Timothy was also serving and supporting.
Here’s a four things I unpack in this message:
- The same circumstances can produce godly concern or worldly worry. Learn how to shift from the latter to the former.
- There’s a trick to “Christian” planning, and the key is holding your agenda with a light rather than a tight grip.
- Every Christian should find someone to imitate and someone to influence.
- It is vitally important that we consistently encourage our spiritual leaders.
