Nuff Said: Twitter, a poll and… dinosaur guy
This "Nuff Said" post focuses on the movement at Twitter under Elon Musk's new ownership. It gives you an opportunity to voice your own opinion about whether I should get back on Twitter now that it appears the most egregious censorship seems to be abated. And... and you'll want to see this video of "dinosaur guy."
Twitter reorganizes under Musk
With Elon Musk at the helm, it would appear from MSM accounts that Twitter is now in its death spirals. I don’t believe it. I think Elon is a crafty businessman and is in the middle of a planned purge of disloyal employees, political partisans who were using the company as their platform to skew/censor information toward one party, and root out those who infested the Twitter infrastructure as lazy good-for-nothings.
As the mass exodus continues (he gave employees an ultimatum this week to work “hardcore”), I believe what we’ll see is a more streamlined, objective and liberty-loving social media platform.
Elon Musk asked Twitter employees to commit to a “hardcore” culture, where they are expected to work “long hours at high intensity,” or resign. They have until 5:00 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday to make their decision.[1]Elon Musk says Twitter employees must commit to ‘hardcore’ culture by 5 p.m. Eastern time by Lora Kolodny, CNBC, November 17, 2022
He has been busy trying to enact new policies so that Twitter doesn’t become a free-for-all cesspool.
Musk tweeted “Freedom Fridays” yesterday as he reinstated some accounts (like the Babylon Bee, Jordan Peterson, and Kathy Griffin (left-wing comedian infamous for posting a picture of herself holding Trump’s severed head), and Andrew Tate.
He has since posted a poll to users asking whether Trump’s Twitter count should be unbanned. (Trump has claimed he will not use it, instead opting for his own TruthSocial platform.) With an hour left, the poll stands at almost 52% to reinstate, 48% to not.
It’s hard to me to justify the banning of a former president who has announced another run for office – especially when other more vitriolic accounts have remained on Twitter.
A poll: Should I get back on social media?
Back in January 2021, I exited social media.[2]You can read my post on exiting social media in January 2021 – Goodbye, OSM here. You can also read my update No social media withdrawals from February 2021.
I got fed up with the rampant censorship of conservative voices. Though I’m on Gab, GETTR and TruthSocial, I have never found the same community and participation from these that I did on Twitter.
I don’t necessarily miss social media, but in order to promote this blog (and other writing projects), it’s almost a necessity to have social media accounts.
(You may notice I didn’t give Facebook as an option… Yeah. It would be a hard sell to get back on FB.
